REVIEW: Nailpolish by Whimsical Ideas By Pam

A few weeks ago I came across Carla from Vitamins for my soul  blog about these whimsical nail polishes.  I was immediately intrigued, if the packaging wasn't enough, the colors and not to mention the names, were so adorable!

Cost: They cost 10$ a bottle. I know it is a little on the pricer side for nail polishes, however considering Pam hand made all these nail polishes and takes care of the orders and shipping herself, I think it is quite understandable. & not to mention, the packaging is so darn adorable!

Packaging: They are packaged in a standard nail polish bottle, however Pam did add a few details that made it extra special. I love that she printed the nail polish names in front of bottles, instead of the cap. That way, it's easier to know the names of your nail polishes. A small detail, but very appreciate. The bow was also a adorable touch. It definitely made it more whimsical. + I love the fact that these nail polishes can be double as a room decor

Application: The nail polish brush is pretty standard. It's similar size as most nail polish out there. I do recommend, however, to shake your polishes before application, because at times, the glitter tends to pool in the bottom. Which is pretty much the case for most glittery polishes.

Colors: She had tons of other colours to choose from, but here are the three that sparked my interest.

From left to right: Saturday Morning Cartoons, My Friend Carol, Kitty Glitter

KITTY GLITTER

Opacity/Color Payoff: Kitty Glitter is a sheer mint, almost grey nail polish with chunky silver glitter.
It is quite sheer on its own, even with three coats, however when worn alone it does have a pretty iridescent colour to it. This nail polish is also a great for layer. It's perfect to jazz up any of your non-glittery polishes.

SWATCH From Top to Bottom:
1st nail: 3 coats of Kitty Glitter
2nd nail: 2 coats of Essie Mint Candy Apple + 1 coat of Kitty Glitter
3rd nail: 1 coat Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Jude Jump + 1 coat of Kitty Glitter
4th nail: 2 coats of Kitty Glitter

MY FRIEND CAROL

Opacity/Color Payoff: My friend carol is a middle ground of a sheer light pink and nude colour. It also has chunky baby pink glitter. Similar to Kitty Glitter, it is quite sheer on its own, but again a great layering polish.

SWATCH From Top to Bottom:
1st nail: 3 coats of My Friend Carol
2nd nail: 2 coats of Essie Knockout Pout + 1 coat of My Friend Carol
3rd nail: 2 coats of Essie Lilacism + 1 coat of My friend carol
4th nail: 2 coats of My friend carol

SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS

Opacity/Color Payoff: Saturday morning cartoons is the most opaque amongst the three polishes I chose. It is a navy blue polish with red, green and silver glitter. With three coats it is quite opaque and can definitely be worn on its own. But, with one coat is can also be used as a layering polish

SWATCH From Top to Bottom:
1st nail: 3 coats of Saturday morning cartoon
2nd nail: 1 coat of China Glaze in China Rouge + 1 coat of saturday morning cartoons
3rd nail: 1 coat of Revlon No Shrinking Violet + 1 coat of saturday morning cartoons
4th nail: 2 coats of saturday morning cartoons

DO I RECOMMEND IT? Yes, I love independent nail polish brand. I think that the colour selection are quite unique. Although they are sheer, i love to layer my nail polish, and these polishes definitely add a special touch to my sometimes boring nails. + The packaging are so darn cute, I can't get over it! I'm a sucker for cute packaging. I definitely recommend checking out her Website.

Thanks for reading! ox Elii

Belt Organizer

So the other day when I was shopping for home decor, I came across this very functional belt organizer at Deco Decouverte (called Home Outfitters everywhere else in Canada.)

I don't know about you guys but I'm prone to losing my belts, well a guess that's not entirely true...I'm actually prone to losing most of my accessories/jewelry.

You can hang this nifty organizer directly in your closet rod for easy access, and the the belt rings are so easy to open and close. It literally takes seconds to open the ring choose your belt and then close it back. There's five rings total, so you can organize your belts either by colour or style :)
This item is definitely very sturdy. I don't have a ton of belts...but I can definitely tell like it withhold a heavy load. I think it's definitely worth the 8$ :)

For those of you who don't have Deco Decouverte/Home Outfitter; I think Bed Bath and Beyond also carries this item. Or Amazon :)

Lush & Esprit Haul

Yesterday, I met up with some long time friends for brunch, and then of course, we had to go shopping :) Of course my no-shopping policy only lasted a few days *sigh... luckily, I didn't go too crazy... But here is what I got :)

From Esprit, I got this cute blush coloured knit top.
Esprit is currently having a having promotion in their stores. 70% off the entire store on top of their already reduced prices. I definitely recommend to check it out. This top originally cost 90$ + and I got for 20$ :)

My addiction to Lush continues to grow...

PORIDGE SOAP - Got a small chunk of the famous porridge soap, it's suppose to be a good exfoliant. Have you guys tried it already? I really exited to see if it's worth the hype :)

MINT JULIP MINT SCRUB - My lips has been so chapped lately, and the winter weather is definitely not helping. So I decided to try this lip scrub.

To be honest, it's similar as simple sugar and olive oil, but slightly more moisturizing, and it does keep quite well. However, it is still pretty pricey for what it is.

EACH PEACH (AND TWO'S A PAIR) MASSAGE BAR - It completely melts into skin upon contact. This is definitely a moisturizing, but slightly oily bar...(Great for massaging definitely :) And don't let the name fool it, it definitely does not smell like peach, it's more of a strong citrus scent.

On top a my purchase, I got two hair samples as well. I got BIG SHAMPOO & VEGANESE CONDITIONNER. I have yet to try these, but from the description of the sales person, it's suppose to be a very volumizing duo. :) Can't wait to try them. :)

& that is my haul, let me know if you have tried any of these products, and what you think about them :) Or if you having any suggestion. Until next time, oxox
